the music was PERFECT. especially when Astro notices himself in Starry Night, that sound was terrifying and awesome

analysis...
the chest seems friendly, not aggressive, so whatever it's doing isn't out of self-defense, meaning it's too dumb to be frightened, or it's too powerful to be frightened, or it's used to giving whatever's inside to random newcomers.
so, based off of that i come to two possible conclusions:
1. the box is a powerful, malicious creature, and whatever it's doing is probably a hunting mechanism; it's completely unafraid, meaning it has to be the apex predator -- so probably it's basically a chest mimic, trying to lure the astronaut in
2. this world sees a lot of random interdimensional visitors, and has a system set up such that they can better find their way; the box in this case would be friendly because it's giving the astronaut maybe some kind of tool or transportation to help traverse this new world.
that's my take :)
the animation is really good, but what really impresses me is your voice acting!! most small-time animators (sorry if that's an insulting phrase, i don't mean it as such) tend to have really terrible voice-acting skills but yours are pretty immersive.
i do have to agree with another reviewer though, the vertical orientation is a bit uncomfy heh
